Morning Coffee - FIRST AND FOREMOST

LIVE FIRST AND FOREMOST in My Presence.  Gradually you will become more aware of Me than of people and places around you.  This awareness will not detract from your relationships with others.  Instead, it will increase your ability to give love and encouragement to them.  My Peace will permeate your words and demeanor.  You will be active in the world, yet one step removed from it.  You will not be easily shaken because My enveloping Presence buffers the blow of problems.

This is the path I have set before you.  As you follow it wholeheartedly, you experience abundant Life and Peace.

Jesus Calling
Enjoying Peace in His Presence
by Sarah Young

I am not nearly as close as I should be to living “FIRST AND FOREMOST in His Presence”.  But I am much closer than I used to be.  And I can attest that as I focus more on Him and less on the world, the blows of my problems are buffered.

Most often my problems tend to start and end with ME; how I am affected/hurt/changed/inconvenienced etc etc.  However when I keep God FIRST AND FOREMOST, problems take on a whole different perspective and I find that they are really not about me at all.  And maybe they aren’t really as much problems as they are simply new opportunities to live in HIS PRESENCE.

Time for another cup of coffee as I prepare to accept the opportunities of this day.

  1. How wonderful you are Sandy! If anyone has a right to feel affected/hurt/changed/ etc., it is you. But you have found the right perspective. You really inspire me to do better!

  2. You give me too much credit Jane. I struggle with this like everyone else. I'm trying to keep God FIRST AND FOREMOST but it sure isn't easy. And there are times I get down right angry at God. But, during our quiet times together in the morning, He prods me - and inspires me - to do better which at least helps me start the day with the proper perspective. Of course it doesn't always end the way it began. (-:

    Are you still busy harvesting????
