I loved George Burns and Gracie Allen. They were favorites of mine! And after revisiting their thoughts and humor this morning through some of their quotes, they'd still be favorites of mine today! Think I'll pour another cup of coffee and spend some more time with them.

Gracie was pretty wise. Especially that second quote! They used to play their show on the local station late at night around here. Why can't TV be like that today? Hope you get a few chuckles from Gracie today!
ReplyDeleteClassic Gracie: “Gracie comes home from the hospital after visiting a sick friend. (George) 'Where did you get the flowers?' (Gracie) 'I went to visit Mable.' (George) 'Yeah, so?' (Gracie) 'WELL, you told me to take her flowers!'” (-:
ReplyDeleteYep, Jane, we definitely need humorous shows like that on tv these days instead of the mostly garbage stuff we have.
Have a good day!!
That's a good one! I always decompress during the holidays by watching George and Gracie, Hazel, Mr. Ed, Donna Reed and Jack Benny on YouTube. They warm my heart. Get nostalgic for things like department stores with clerks, hats and gloves and just simpler times.
