Morning Coffee - Food for Thought

Live in the world as if only God and your soul were in it; then your heart will never be made captive by any earthly thing.
-- John of the Cross

Some good food for thought with my morning cup!  It's been a busy two weeks with moving and emptying a home.  A quiet moment with a fresh cup of coffee is very much needed - along with a perfect thought to contemplate!

  1. Hope that everything is settled now with your parents. I'm sure the move stirred a lot of memories. After helping my mother move, I can see why you'd be thinking about earthly goods! In a lifetime you can surely accumulate a lot of them!

  2. What a great thought! Yes, a move will certainly make us fully aware of all the things we've collected that we don't need any more. We've moved so often over the years that we're quite downsized already! Once folks move into the nursing home where I work, they are only 2-3 pieces of furniture left and mostly pictures of family that decorate the room. It seems sad, but so important to let go of earthly goods!

  3. Thinking of you and hoping that you are comforted in the memories and celebrating the wonderful life in the old home and the ones to come in the new one.
