Morning Coffee - Restoring order

Make me the focal point of your search for security.  In your private thoughts, you are still trying to order your world so that it is predictable and feels safe. Not only is this an impossible goal, but it is also counterproductive to spiritual growth.

Sarah Young
Jesus Calling
In my cloud of thoughts, GET ORGANIZED dominates.  It is huge and overshadows everything else.  How often I have declared that the goal of the day is to get organized; to get a handle on things again.  Because it is then that I feel I have control of my life.  But I don’t, really – it will all come undone again in a matter of days and I will once again feel anxious and out of sync.

Sarah Young points out that my focus is what needs reorganizing.  God should be the biggest tag in my cloud of thoughts.  I need to make His presence my goal for the day.  That is where lasting safety and security is found.

Time for a second cup of coffee and some ordering of my day!

  1. Does this mean that I have permission not to clean up my bedroom closet today? :) Getting that straightened will take a miracle!

  3. Yes..... when you say 'get organized' being one of those top re-occurring messages.. rewinding and starting every morning all over again... that would be me too most of the time.

Thank you for the wise reminder from Sarah... if we let Him order our day, it will be in order and we won't have that sinking feeling that we can never catch up.

    Thanks Sandy!

  4. So this is where I must be going wrong! I don't ask for guidance first!

I want to make a Christmas quilt. What time can you be here? I love the quilt you show on facebook!

  5. If I had a Magic Sleigh I'd be there in a heartbeat, Matty. I'll bet Lazy Bee Farm is beautiful in the winter!

Thanks - about the quilt. I've made these for my Grandkids. I have had my Mom help with the appliqueing which makes them all the more special for the kids.
